About the Founder

Warm greetings! My name is Bela-Raphael Bengs, born in 1987 near Bremen, Germany, and I am the founder of True Darling Matrimony. Drawing from years of spiritual training and deep ethical commitment, I previously lived as a Theravāda Buddhist monk (monastic name and description: Ṭhānuttamo Bhikkhu) during two monastic periods, first from 2016 to 2023, and again from 2024 to 2025.
I spent my time in respected monasteries across Europe and Asia – including Malaysia, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka – dedicated to the study and practice of early Buddhist teachings. Having familiarized myself with Pāḷi and the core Buddhist scriptures, I emphasize mindfulness, integrity, and compassion in my professional and private values and undertakings.

For several years prior to my first ordination, I have been studying and practicing the Buddha’s teaching for about three years in retreat and in various monasteries throughout Europe and Asia. I first encountered the Buddha’s teachings in 2007, at the age of 20.
